Reports just came out that this year’s Super Bowl set the record for the largest TV audience of any show, over 106 million, beating out the M.A.S.H. finale!  Now of that 106 million maybe 25 million actually watched the entire game while the remaining 81 million were there for the friends, food, beer, and of course commercials.  Being a sports fan the Super Bowl is a win-win, great commercials, and more importantly unmatched athletic intensity and competition.  It was a great game, featuring two talented, class act quarterbacks as well as two highly potent offenses, can’t get better than that!  I was cheering for Manning to take home another trophy, but props to the Saints for calming their nerves to pull out a huge victory!  I’d love to keep commentating on the game but you could get far better input from espn.com or the like, so onto the commercials.

It was interesting this year to see that there were a couple of commercials that at least referenced the idea of green or environmentally friendly.  I loved the Green Police commercial by Audi, it was one of my favorites.  It’s great when a company can take a light hearted look at the demographic that they are selling to, and nottake themselves too seriously.   A cue that many critics missed today, as they are bashing on the commercial for bashing aspects of the green movement.  Come on people no sense of humor?  I’m just thankful that I can sleep at night knowing that the Green police won’t coming knocking at Unique’s door!  We’ve been Green Police approved! :)   There was also a Bud Light commercial that referenced a house made out of Bud Light cans, as “environmentally friendly”, which was responded to by a “enviro-what?”  I wonder if we could make an enviromentally friendly house made out of old, used Unique bottles . . . alright customers start sending those bottles back to us, we have some building to do!
